T-minus 4 days and counting! August 16, 2007

August 20th is “the big day” for me. It is the day that I’m getting back on the wagon. I’ve got a plan and I’m not afraid to use it. So stand back, this could get ugly.
I’m going on a diet.
Of course I always say that after vacation. Eating out every night (and most lunches) coupled with minimal exercise tends to make one a bit puffy. But this time I mean it. Really.
I have a plan.
Did I mention I have a plan?
Yup. And a good one.
Seriously, I’ve been reading “You On A Diet: The Owner’s Manual for Waist Management” and I must admit I’m drinkin’ the Kool-Aid on this one. I’ve tried many diets, but this one seems more like a lifestyle change that I can work with. It’s a funny, interesting read and everything in it seems very doable. So, beginning Monday, August 20th, my routine will consist of the following:
- 1 hour of cardio 3x a week, with at target heartrate of 150 bpm
- 40 min of strength training + 20 min of cardio 3x a week
- Horseback riding 4x a week
- “Equilates” for 30 min 2x a week
And of course, following the “You On A Diet” eating plan. The focus will not be on my weight, but instead on my waist size. Metrics will be logged every Sunday.
Yup, it’s a plan. Let’s kick ass and take some names.

Cool cool! This sounds like a great plan!
The 3x cardio at a serious (150) workout level sounds great! Adding in the weight training 3x… even better! The Horseback and Equilates icing on the cake!
And best of all… I know this will make a waist size difference!
