Week 1: Feelin’ Good! August 26, 2007

Week 1 of my lifestyle change is done, and so far so good!  My progress will be tracked on my “You (Me) On A Diet” page.  Strangely enough I didn’t loose any weight this week, but I took 2″ off my waist and 1″ off my hips!  I double and triple checked my measurements and sure enough, they’re right!  But the bonus is that I went most of the week without overstuffing myself, and blowing it with an irresistable craving for lutefisk.  (HA. If all my cravings were for lutefisk I’d be rail thin.)  I’m still pretty hungry, though.  A few nights ago I joked with Jeff about how he would be medium rare…

I did buy myself a Polar HR monitor today (the F6, per Lisa’s recommendation).  It’s cotton-candy pink (they call it “coral”), so I doubt a certain someone in this house will be borrowing it…  That should give me more of an accurate calorie count.  One more gadget to love and cherish!

I had a great afternoon run with Beth.  It was weird to run in the sun! (We usually run at the butt-crack of dawn.)  We put in a good pace for the first two miles, right about 9:00/mi, and then walked home after 2.25 mi.  Our runs are our decompression time, and we weren’t able to talk at 9:00/mi!

Tomorrow I ride Rasyn in a lesson with my trainer and I can’t wait!  I’m hoping she can shed some light on Ray’s recent anxiety (and as a result, mine).

A report on watermelon and arugula salad coming soon…
