A Fabulous Four September 9, 2007
Posted by kimayars RunThis morning Beth and I opted for a slower yet longer run. We decided to try and avoid Evil Traffic Circle (ETC), so we headed into a cluster of townhome-style apartments and .5 miles in did a .25 mile hill with a 160ft elevation gain. It may not seem much to regular climbers, but until today all our runs have been flat. At the top of the hill, we turned around, ran down, and went the opposite direction toward another hill 1.5 miles away with an elevation gain of 186 feet. Again, not huge but for those of us living in Flatland, this was a good effort.
I’m now in the happy, relaxed state knowing that I had a nice run and worked hard. And the funny part is our pace wasn’t much different than our 3-milers AND we did two hills. I wonder if I can combine those and say we climbed 346 feet?
Jeff has just left for his bike ride. (”Oh, I think I’ll just ride to Fall City and back.”) so I’m looking forward to snuggling back in bed and allowing the feeling to return to my quads while the girls play with Legos. I know I’ll pay for it later with stiffness, but I really want to enjoy the moment.
After Jeff gets back, I’m looking forward to a ride on Rasyn. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and my coffee is brewing. How could this day get any better?

Nice run. I don’t think I could go back to bed after a run. I’m better at falling asleep in front of the TV.
I’m glad you got a good run in! I love finishing up a hard workout…! I would have gone back to bed, too.
