Rasyn has found his inner cow. Well, maybe too much cow.  I guess you could say I’m an overachiever.  My goal this week was to erase the anxiety he associates with getting in the saddle.

Today, he fell asleep.  Mission accomplished.  I almost didn’t have the heart to ask him to walk on.

Our ride was pretty much blah.  He usually is so forward and sensitive that I don’t need a whip or spurs.  Today I wished I had both.  It’s too bad that I left my ForeRunner at home because I was REALLY working hard trying to keep him going.  I’m sure a lot had to do with the weather.  It was a sunny, warm, and really a fabulous day. I think both of us were just a little tooooo relaxed.  We would have both have preferred to be sitting under a shady tree with a Mojito. It’s too bad he doesn’t have thumbs, or that could have been an option.

I guess it was just a weird day for horses. I was grooming Zandee, an old retired Quater Horse horse with one eye (yup, really) owned by Sherene and half-leased by me. I found a really good itchy spot.  He stretched his neck out so that his chin was about 6 inches off the ground with this face in this contorted oh-my-God-I-can’t-believe-how-good-this-feels lip curl.  Then he went down. Fell. Kaboom.  Granted, he is 23 which is pretty old for a horse.  But still. Shocked the heck out of me.  He seems to be fine, and the grooming continued which he thoroughly enjoyed.  Sherene and I were just talking about how we should ride him soon. Both she and I are having second thoughts now…

Oh that is hilarious…..! What a fun day… at least, in theory. :) I am sure at the time it wasn’t too fun.

Sounds like Zandee’s pleasure points put him over the edge. Too bad you don’t have that simple power over Rasyn. Sounds like you were putting everyone in the ole barnyard to sleep yesterday.

Sometimes it’s just really hard to stay awake around Kim… That’s why I always insist on getting COFFEE with her. ;-)

Alas, I am exposed. I have not one but two addictions: Coffee and Sherene!

I happen to like a Muffin with my coffee. Or is it a cupcake?
