Advil, the miracle drug… December 22, 2007

On Friday, I had a mild headache when I woke up so I took two Advil. I still had a headache near dinner so I took two more. I was laying in bed that night and it occured to me: My foot didn’t hurt.
I woke up this morning and it was a little stiff, but it loosened up pretty quickly. All day it has been pain free. Am I healed? I’ve been doing the alphabet with my foot and lightly massaging it, but other than that just feeling sorry for myself. I’ll give it a few more days of rest and see how it does, but I am VERY optimistic. I’m wondering if I was in this inflamation-irritation-inflamation-iritation cycle and the Advil broke that. I guess time will tell.
I lunged Mr. Ray today and he was an angel. I don’t remember the last time I lunged him, so I expected him to be a little confused and jumpy. He was perfect. His canter transitions were smooth — normally he bolts into them and then tears around like a madman.
I should be able to ride him on Monday. I’m looking forward to that.
I will continue to keep my fingers crossed on my foot! I would love to go for a run next week.
