Working Out the Kinks May 9, 2008
Posted by kimayars WalkI’m beginning to enjoy these walks with Kristi in the morning, especially after a hard day like yesterday. It really helps me get the stiffness from the day before out. I did the hill program at level 7.
I am noticing some interesting “heat” in my right shin (I’m such a horse nerd, I wanted to say “cannon” at first). It literally gets warm (even to the touch) just to the left of my shin bone about 3/4 of the way up. I started some cold compresses and my “Just-Say-No-To-Shin-Splints” exercises. We’ll see if it nips that one in the bud. No tenderness, which is good.
It’s going to be gorgeous tomorrow– I hope I can get to the barn to torment the pony before the rain comes.

Watch those shin splints…I had them one whole season in track in high school..caused the most horrible running season ever!! Keep blogging..I really love to hear from other horse fit people!
Next week is my first 50 mile endurance ride of the year up in BC Canada…so excited! Except they say it is going to be 90 degrees!! Eek! Just when I go getting used to 40s and 50s…keep cold compressing that sore cannon
