This is just wrong. Today I made a concerted effort to monitor and control my calorie intake. I tallied my food just a few minutes ago, expecting to see somewhere around 1200 calories. In fact, I’m so hungry right now I was SURE I was somewhere around 1000 calories. I mean, I have to be careful not to starve myself.

That’s how many calories I have consumed today.

Say what??

I added it up FIVE TIMES. I even saw my friend Dave at the coffee shop today and proudly displayed my nonfat tall latte (replacing my salted carmel hot chocolate). If I ate 1711 calories today and limited what I ate, then I really worry about what I was eating before. Anyway, here’s the gory details:

Hot oatmeal + sugar = 180kcal
Noodle Soup = 410kcal
Apple = 80kcal
Chips Ahoy Snack Pack = 100kcal
Fig Newtons = 130kcal
Tall NF Latte + sugar = 120kcal
1c mashed potatos = 318kcal
4oz of pot roast = 373kcal

So in taking a look at this, I should have made my snacks a piece of fruit, and the choices for dinner were not wise. But I’m so huuuuuuuungry. Blah. I need a drink.

Far be it for the “queen of fluff” to give nutritional advise. But, looking at your list for the day, the most obvious question to me is….do you not like green veggies? I bet you could fill up a lot on some green veggies and benefit from their low calorie count. Just a thought.

Oh how I feel your pain. You know, from my experience, you just need to tweek what your eating a bit. You would be surprised how many calories you can save. For example… instead of adding sugar to your oatmeal, add some fresh fruit. Not only will it make it taste yummy you get one of your servings of fruit for the day. Progesso makes a great soup, and only 140 calories for the whole can. Again a serving of veggies. For my sweet tooth or afternoon pick me up, I drink G2, only about 100 calories for a whole quart. Or some V8 fusion light. Any way, I know all of these things, and I do pretty good, then I blow it at dinner. I eat way too much and then go to bed. So, believe me do as I say, not as I do. LOL I have some knowledge, and am great at giving advice. I just have a hard time taking it. Oh the pain. Will we ever conquor fat?
